由中科院水生生物研究所与湖北长江天鹅洲白鳍豚国家级自然保护区共建实验室近期采购的全自动间断化学分析仪SmartChem200到货，于2011-6-23安装调试完毕。研究人员可以利用SmartChem 200对自然保护区周边的水、土壤、植物内相关离子进行快速、精确地测定，从而研究生态环境变化对江豚行为的影响。
